BELL: Ford government’s budget must have its priorities straight

QUEEN’S PARK — Ontario NDP Shadow Finance Minister Jessica Bell (University—Rosedale) wants Doug Ford to finally get his priorities straight with Budget 2026.

“After eight years of Doug Ford, a lot of things need fixing,” said Bell. “We have a doctor shortage. We need more teachers in classrooms. Life continues to be more unaffordable than ever.

“People need real change, particularly our young people, who can now add soaring tuition costs and student debt to their affordability challenges, thanks to this government’s OSAP cuts.

“This budget can’t trot out the same tired approaches we’ve seen from the Conservatives. On Budget Day, our report card will determine whether or not the Ford government is finally going to help everyday Ontarians get ahead. It’s up to the Conservatives to pass the test.”
